Mountain Dew Pitch Black 20oz (CANADA)

Pitch Black was released in Canada in Halloween 2004, the same year it was released in the United States. However, unlike the U.S. version, the Canadian version was sold without caffeine due to laws preventing caffeine from being added to non-dark soft drinks at the time of its release. It was known as Alerte Noire (Black Alert) in French.

After nineteen years of no signs of Pitch Black's return, Mountain Dew Canada confirmed on Instagram that Pitch Black would release first at Circle K on January 15th, 2023. Unlike the 2004 release, it has caffeine, and the name "Alerte Noire" was dropped. The flavor tagline was updated to say "Citrus Punch," similar to its American counterpart, or "Punch aux agrumes." It was later confirmed that Pitch Black had joined the lineup as a permanent flavor in Canada.
